Thomas Kariuki

Profile

ThomasKariuki is a graduate of the University of Nairobi and the University of York, UK, (PhD immunology).

He currently works at the Institute of Primate Research in Nairobi, as current Director and Senior Research Scientist. IPR is a biomedical facility that carries out preclinical research.

His research interests are on the immunology of infectious diseases, co-infections and the influence of worm infections on vaccination outcomes. He has published extensively on vaccines and diagnostics development for schistosomiasis, malaria and co-infections. His research support comes from local and international organizations.

Kariukiis a recipient of various awards including Fellowships and national honors. He is a member of various professional organizations such as IUIS, FAIS, and AAS and serves on sporting, community and academic boards. He is married with two daughters.

 

ARNTD exists to support evidence-based control and elimination of NTDs from Africa by empowering current and future generations of African researchers.
