Louis Adu-Amoah

Profile

Louis holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). In 2014, he graduated with an MPhil degree in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, also from the KNUST where he trained in the search of bioactive agents against infectious organisms from medicinal plants. Louis is currently a PhD candidate in Molecular Medicine at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, KNUST and is a Research Fellow with the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Research Group at KCCR.

He started his scientific career by volunteering at KCCR on a number of clinical studies. Over the years, he has been involved in carrying out a number of studies, including the first ever anti-tuberculosis drug resistant survey in Ghana, seroprevalence studies in meningitis and COVID-19, and COVID-19 vaccine trials, among other studies. He has experience in grants and project administration, monitoring and evaluation of projects funded by the Wellcome Trust, Meningitis Research Foundation, Volkswagen Foundation, the USAID and the UK FCDO.

ARNTD exists to support evidence-based control and elimination of NTDs from Africa by empowering current and future generations of African researchers.
