Mathurin Koffi

Profile

Mathurin Koffi holds a PhD in Genetic and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases from the University of Montpellier 2. He is a lecturer at the Jean Lorougnon Guede University, Côte d’Ivoire. As a Post-doctoral fellow at CSRS in Côte d’Ivoire since 2010, he is in charge of the molecular biology lab.

Koffi is the Co-PI of a project funded by the German Research Foundation together with Dr. Ehrhard from BNI, Hamburg. Since 2011, he is an EFINTD fellow for a pilot study on human genetic susceptibility to gambiense trypanosome infection.

In 2013, he applied forfor an EFINTD extended fellowship. Thanks to the EFINTD pilot study, Koffi is member of the H3 Africa consortium as the co-PI of a proposal titled Trypano Genplan for a GWAS for a better control of HAT.He is a member of several scientific societies including African Society of Human Genetics and African Society for Bioinformatics.

 

ARNTD exists to support evidence-based control and elimination of NTDs from Africa by empowering current and future generations of African researchers.
