Elia Mmbaga

Mmbaga holds an MD and PhD degree in Infectious disease epidemiology and is currently a Senior lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

In 2010, Mmbaga was awarded a DHS fellowship in population health, and in 2011, he received a prestigious Harvard University Global Scholar award.

Mmbaga is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the East African Journal of Public Health and a member of the Board of the School of Medicine and the University Research Ethical committee.

Mmbaga’s research interests include infectious disease and health system research. He has published extensively in the areas of infectious diseases and health systems.

ARNTD exists to support evidence-based control and elimination of NTDs from Africa by empowering current and future generations of African researchers.
