Aboubakary Sanou

Aboubakary Sanou holds a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in Health Sociology and Anthropology (2001, Université de Ouagadougou/Burkina Faso), a M.Sc. in Community Health and Health Management (2003, University of Heidelberg/Germany) and a PhD in Public Health from (Université de Montréal/Canada).
He worked at the Centre de Recherche en Santé de Nouna (CRSN) in Burkina Faso and headed the Demographic Surveillance System section and Information and Data Management Service. His previous and current works include malaria, HIV/AIDS (PMTCT), home care, the use of research in policymaking, evaluation of interventions, immunization and meningitis.
Sanou is also a research associate of the Technoscience and Regulation Research Unit of the Department of Pediatrics of Dalhousie University (Canada) and a member of the Health Policy and Translation Group of the Canadian Centre for Vaccinology.
He is currently mentoring the social science group at CRSN. His research priorities are on communities and health centers collaborations, evaluation of interventions, immunization and research to policy linkage.
