Anatole Kibadi Kapay

Profile

Anatole Kibadi Kapay graduated from theFaculty of Medicine, University of Lubumbashi in 1994 and obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) in 2010.

He is currently Professor for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, and Professor for Hand Surgery and Peripherals Nerves at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Since 2004 he is also heading the ‘Buruli Ulcer’ Unit at the Institut National de RechercheBiomédicale in Kinshasa and he participated in the International WHO training on surgical manangement of Buruli Ulcer.

Prof. Kibadi is the author of several per-reviewed papers and WHO books (“Laboratory diagnosis of Buruli ulcer, a manual for health care providers”, 2014; “Treatment of Mycobacterium Ulcerans disease (Buruli ulcer) Guidance for health workers”, 2012) and is a member and cofounder of the African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases.

 

ARNTD exists to support evidence-based control and elimination of NTDs from Africa by empowering current and future generations of African researchers.
