Dr. Hikabasa Halwiindi is a Senior Lecturer of Community Health at the University of Zambia, where he has worked since 2002. He has a PhD in Community Health from the University of Copenhagen, an MPhil in International community health from the University of Oslo, and a BSc degree in Biological Sciences (Parasitology Major) from the University of Zambia.

He is currently the Assistant Dean (Postgraduate) for the School of Public Health at the University of Zambia. His research interests and experiences are varied and inter-disciplinary within Public Health Sciences. His publications contribute to the literature on control of neglected tropical diseases, community-directed interventions, maternal and child health and Public Health Nutrition; while his teaching credentials and experience fall within various areas of public health including Community Health, Implementation Science, Health Promotion, and Research Methodology. Over the years he has also been a consultant for various International and local organizations, including the World Food Program, WHO, DFID, UNICEF, National Aids Council, Ministry of Health and Civil Societies Alliance on Scaling Up Nutrition.
