Uwemedimo Ekpo

Profile

Uwem Friday Ekpo is now Professor of Parasitology and Epidemiology at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta where he started his academic career in 1999. Before joining the university, he worked for nine years as a Programme Assistant for Nigeria Guinea worm Eradication Programme, where he had practical experiences in National Disease control programme. He has won several awards both local and international, including fellowships and grants.

His research focus and interest is spatial parasitology and epidemiology; control of neglected tropical diseases and health GIS. He has advance certificates in Geospatial Health and Environment, Louisiana State University, USA; Bayesian Disease Mapping in Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Basel, Switzerland and Epidemiological Methods from the International Epidemiological Association, USA
